How NHS 111 online works
All you need to do is go to 111.nhs.uk and enter your age, gender, postcode and main symptom. You will then be asked a series of questions about your health problem - these are exactly the same enquiries that an NHS call handler would ask you during a telephone conversation.
After filling in the online form, you will given a recommendation or ‘disposition’ on what to do next. This could be anything from ‘visit a pharmacy’ to ‘call 999’.
NHS 111 online is a fast and convenient alternative to the NHS 111 phone service and provides an option for people who want to access 111 digitally.
Not only does it allow patients to get urgent healthcare online, it also helps to manage the increasing demand on NHS 111 telephone services.
