Delivering Healthcare In Barnsley
Barnsley Healthcare Federation is an NHS provider, specialising in primary care.
Barnsley Healthcare Federation is an NHS provider, specialising in primary care.
We run a membership GP organisation, of which all Barnsley GPs are members. Since 2015, we’ve been working together to share best practice, training and resources, to achieve economies of scale, and to improve consistency of healthcare across Barnsley.
We manage some GP practices directly, providing care to patients through Barnsley Healthcare Federation practices.
We run the Primary Care Network (PCN) for Barnsley, which means we recruit specialist staff, manage specialist services and provide central back office support to GPs. See about the PCN for more information.
Some of our work supporting GPs is at federation level, some is at PCN level and the two work well together. As a group, we work with partners from our local integrated care system – including Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, other NHS providers and community and voluntary sector organisations – to focus on delivering patient-centred care.
